What Shockwave Therapy Treats

Fibrosis, scar tissue, or chronic tightness:  Shockwave Therapy can help restore motion and circulation.

Common conditions we treat include:

  • Chronic tendonitis (achilles, rotator cuff, elbow)

  • Plantar fasciitis and heel pain

  • Calcified shoulder

  • Hip spurs

  • Post-surgical or post-injury stiffness

  • Nerve entrapment and “burning” pain syndromes

  • Scar adhesions or thickened fascia

  • Old sports injuries that never fully healed

  • Chronic muscle tension from postural strain

When we map out your care plan, we’ll also address the posture or movement habits that may be keeping your tissue in a reactive state.

If your pain feels dense, fibrotic, or unresponsive to stretching or massage, you’re likely a perfect candidate for Shockwave Therapy.

Abstract Structure

How it Works

Developed in the 1960s and refined through decades of medical research, Shockwave Therapy began as a tool to break up kidney stones. Later, researchers discovered its remarkable ability to stimulate healing instead of just breaking things apart.

When applied to muscles and joints, the acoustic energy activates the body’s natural repair pathways—much like rebooting a dormant system. It’s modern physics meeting the body’s own intelligence.  Each 10–15 minute session sends focused acoustic waves into muscles, tendons, or joints that have stopped responding to traditional care or rest. Whether you’re managing chronic tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, or post-surgical stiffness, Shockwave Therapy invites vitality back into your movement.

At the office, we pair each session with posture retraining so new patterns of healing can truly take root. When structure, circulation, and energy are aligned, the body heals faster and more fully.

Are twelve or six visits best for me?

This will be determined at the second visit. It's based on findings in the exam and  your symptomatic shifts after the first visit.

What is a region?

Shockwave is best kept at 1-2 areas of the body per package. If in your exam it would be best to do both shoulders, that would be two regions. Or the jaw and the upper back would be two regions. Or the right knee and the left ankle.

How frequently should I come in?

Once or twice a week. This will be based on your goals as well as your body's response time to the treatment.

Can I add craniosacral chiropractic care?

Absolutely!  It's starts with a mini-exam for a full body assessment and then recommendations for a combination package.
